Sandpipers in Arizona

Recommended Posts

I don't know if these photos provide enough detail to make positive id's... All photos taken yesterday in Gilbert, AZ (Phoenix area). Photos are from different pond areas in the same preserve. It's possible these are all Least Sandpipers but I'd like to get opinions from more experienced birders. Thanks!

The first shot looks like a Least. The rest show peeps of some sort, perhaps Western or Least?

All the ones on the ground appear to have yellow legs, and are of the same size, so Least there. The flying ones are too close to call for me. Could be Least or Western, like psweet said. I'm sure you get both species in that location..
