Is this a juvenile Cooper Hawk?

Recommended Posts

This is the same bird I posted about a while back, and someone kindly tried to help me identify from a terrible photo. This time I have a bunch of great photos, but I can only post one (or at least one at a time), so I'm hoping this photo is enough for someone to tell me whether this is a Cooper's Hawk or some other kind of bird. Thanks for all feedback!

Any chance you could post the photos themselves, without pasting them into Word documents first?

As an IT professional, I recommend against using that type of file in a public forum.  There's too much of a chance it can be used for virus / malware delivery, even unknowingly.  Plus, not everyone has the software required to view Word files.

The upload limit here is very small and that's why a lot of us store our photos on Flickr or another photo sharing site and link to them from here or embed the photos.

That's another disadvantage to pasting the photo into a .DOC file.  The resulting file is usually a larger file size than the original photo.

Thanks so much to everyone who responded to my post. I didn't see the responses until tonight (I accidentally disabled notifications). I did try to embed the photo originally but that didn't work (way too big). I tried reducing the photo the only way I know how and it was still way too big. The Word Doc was the only way I knew to post, but I didn't know that could spread malware, etc. I won't do that again. Thanks to M-M for posting for me. I'll get a Flickr account! You all are great!!
