New lens from Nikon

Holy smokes, that’s an awful lot for what you get! The f/4 is nice and all, but when you switch to the teleconverter, you’ve essentially got the 200-500mm going for $1,300.

Further you could also get the 80-400mm for an additional $2K and you’re still at a third of the cost of this one! Is the convenience of not having to switch lenses worth and addition $8K?

200-500 its 5.6- this new one F4 this is difference they expect  you will pay for one stop.

It's f/4 if you use the 180-400. If you use the teleconverter it becomes basically a 200-500 (250-560 or something) f/5.6. And if you got the 80-400mm, I'm not 100% but that was f/4 or something close to that.

New version VR2 80-400 5.6 and its 2.4K plus 1.4 (good ) its 500$ more and you will loose one stop -not the best and affordable for everyone .
