      Found a baby bird or a sick or injured bird?   07/11/17

It's a female Purple Finch.  Rose-breasted Grosbeaks are larger and have a mostly white throat, thinner streaking, and a longer white supercilium.

EDIT: Or immature male.

A question - why finch?  the bill of the bird in question seems larger than the two finch also in the picture. Also seems larger than the other finch but perhaps smaller than the cardinal,  Streaking is much more prominent than the female finches (purple or house) that I have seen - almost white and very dark brown as opposed to the lighter browns usually seen

The bill looks bigger than it really is because she's got a seed in it. She is a bit contrasty, but that's likely to be the processing of the photo. A lot of auto functions run the contrast up quite a bit, for instance. Purple Finches are a bit bigger than House Finches, but judging size in photos can be tricky -- so much of what you're seeing is a matter of the angle you're seeing the bird at, rather than the actual size of the bird.
