Unknown Warbler Central NY

Recommended Posts

Looks like a female Black-and-white Warbler. The photo does seemĀ to affect the coloration, they're not really yellow on theĀ undersides.

I think this is actually a female Cerulean Warbler. None of the other suggestions really seem right, but female Cerulean fits well. The underside of a Black-and-white Warbler will always have more obvious striping than this bird, as well as a darker back. This is unlikely to be a Blackburnian because in the second picture you can see a blueish tinge that is not just coming from the strange lighting. The eyebrow mark is basically the same on both Blackburnian and Cerulean warbler females, but the lack of orange tint to the breast, and the apparent slate blue/greenish back and slate blue stripes points away from Blackburnian and towards Cerulean.
